It takes days of practice to learn the art of sauntering. commonly we stride through the out-of-doors too swiftly to see more than the most obvious and prominent things. For observing nature, the best pace is a snail's pace.

We walk to here from Wray Lane car park, at the top of Reigate Hill. A small pub well off the beaten track - but popular with walkres, horse-riders etc. Parts of the pub date from the 16th century, although most of the current building is of later construction possibly early Victorian.
